Overview

The PCF8591 is a single-chip, single-supply and low-power 8-bit CMOS data acquisition device with four analog inputs, one analog output and a serial I2C-bus interface. Three address pins A0, A1 and A2 are used for programming the hardware address, allowing maximum of eight devices connected to the I2C-bus without additional hardware. Address, control and data to and from the device are transferred serially via the two-line bidirectional I2C-bus.

Description

Sunfounder AD/DA Converter PCF8591

The Sunfounder AD/DA Converter PCF8591 is a versatile 8-bit data acquisition module. It uses an I2C interface for easy communication. This converter is ideal for hobbyists and engineers. It works with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. Get precise analog readings and outputs for your projects.

This module features four analog input channels and one analog output. It operates on a DC voltage from 2.5V to 6V. The onboard PCF8591 chip handles conversion quickly. You can address up to eight devices on the same bus. It is compact and easy to integrate into any circuit.

The Sunfounder AD/DA Converter PCF8591 acts as a bridge between analog and digital worlds. It reads analog signals from sensors like temperature or light sensors. Then it converts them to digital data for your microcontroller. It also does the reverse. It takes digital commands and creates analog output voltages. This lets you control motors, LEDs, or dimmers. The I2C interface uses just two wires. This saves pins on your main board. The three address pins let you use multiple converters on one bus. You can monitor many sensors at once. The 8-bit resolution gives 256 steps for both input and output. This is enough for many basic projects. The module works with 5V and 3.3V logic systems. It is a flexible tool for any electronics workbench.
